The High-Performance Ford Fusion ST is coming – Fresh Spy Images

Ford has finally given us proof that the Ford Fusion ST is coming, and it has quad-tip exhaust.

A few months back, the Ford Performance brand was created from the pre-existing Ford Racing and SVT divisions. Once that unification was complete, Ford announced that we would eventually see a lineup of 12 performance cars by the year 2020 from this new Ford Performance division.

Ford Motor Co. has already announced the 2017 F-150 Raptor, the 2016 Shelby GT350 and GT350R, the 2017 Ford GT, the Focus ST supercar, the Focus RS, and the Fiesta ST. So, half of the lineup is accounted for. And today, we have proof of the seventh vehicle – the Fusion ST.

It’s been long-rumored that we would see an ST version of the Fusion, and some of those rumors include a notion of a 3.5L EcoBoost with 400+ HP (not too far fetched, considering the 3.5L EcoBoost of the 2017 Raptor will be pushing 450HP). We personally think that a 3.5L EcoBoost motor would compete too closely with the Taurus SHO, and that this new Fusion ST will be powered by the same underpinnings as the new Focus RS, including an AWD torque-vectoring system, and the 2.0L EcoBoost (with 345 HP).

Ford is on the right track lately, and we will keep you updated as soon as fresh news rolls out from Dearborn.
