The 2020 Shelby GT500 has been unveiled, kind of. Instagram user @sinister_lifestyle apparently leaked these pictures of the high powered snake at a private dealer meeting today in Las Vegas, NV.
Specs aren’t official, but we expect this new GT500 to be powered by a supercharged 5.2L V8, similar to that in the current GT350, except the GT500 will run a traditional cross-plane crankshaft, as oppose to the high-revving, flat-plane crankshaft found in the GT350. Rumors are the new GT500 will push north of 700 horsepower, and some think the magic number is right at 780. We will find out for sure in a few days, presumably. Now that the cat is out of the bag, we expect Ford to drop an official release statement with photos in the very near future.
