Honda has announced today that they will resurrect the S2000 sports car, and it will rival the new Mazda MX-5. Autocar reports that the new S2000 could be powered by a turbocharged 1.5 and 2.0-litre engines; and a Type R version is possible.

The original Honda S2000 made it’s debut in 1999, and had a solid 10-year run – concluding in 2009. During it’s decade long tenure, the S2000 established a reputation as a nimble, yet powerful car. We’ll keep you posted, but in the meantime – head over to Autocar for a more detailed writeup.
