Ford has dropped a few teasers in their latest marketing campaign ad: “The Future is Built”. Around the :45 mark of the video, it shows a new F-150 Raptor driving down the desert, and it is emitting a very distinct V8 noise from the exhaust. We know that Ford likes to tease future releases in videos like this, such as the V8 hybrid Mustang shown in the same video at the :36 mark.
Is Ford hinting at a V8 option in next year’s Raptor, or are they just embarrassed of the 3.5 V6 EcoBoost exhaust note, and decided to dub in the V8 sound? We do know of strong rumors that Ford will offer their new 7.0l V8 (which is still under development) in the 2020 F-150 Raptor. We’ll keep you posted.
