2023 Ford F-150 Raptor R To Officially Debut July 18th with Supercharged 5.2l V8

The most anticipated and exciting addition to the F-150 lineup next year will be the 2023 Ford F-150 Raptor R, which marks the return of the V8 engine to that truck for the first time since Ford dropped the 6.2l V8 in 2014. Now, we know that the 2023 Ford F-150 Raptor R will debut on July 18th, as the automaker itself has confirmed via Twitter:

Ford has all but confirmed that the 2023 Raptor R will be powered by a supercharged 5.2l V8 that is currently found in the latest-gen Shelby GT500 Mustang. For reference, the current GT500 makes an impressive 760 horsepower at the crank in stock form. Simple mods such as a pulley, intake and tune can dramatically increase those numbers for a relatively inexpensive amount.

The fire-breathing V8 in the new 2023 Raptor R will be mated to a ‘strengthened’ 10-speed automatic transmission, and we’ve already heard the Raptor R’s Predator powerplant on multiple occasions, as Ford Motor Company released its own teaser of the truck blasting through the desert. Now, after more than a year of anticipation, we’re on the edge of seeing this Ram TRX-killer in the flesh. Interested buyers will be able to place their orders starting July 18, 2022.
