Chevrolet is getting serious again in regard to competing against the 2016 Mustang GT. GM announced today that the 2016 Camaro SS weighs 223 lbs less than the outgoing model, runs the quarter mile in 12.3 seconds @ 116 MPH, and boasts a 0-60 MPH of just 4 seconds flat. These are serious performance numbers – especially considering this is the SS we are talking about – not the more-powerful ZL1 model. Chevrolet also announced today that the 2016 Camaro SS is also capable of 0.97 G’s on the skidpad.
The above performance numbers are for the 455 HP 6.2-liter V8 SS model, in automatic.
