The next GT500 will be powered by a supercharged 5.2L V8.
Photos were recently leaked showing the 5.2L V8 with a roots blower. The code named motor “Predator” has been under development since last year. Further leaked images show massive rotors wrapped in Brembo calipers. Further, an internal Ford spec sheet was released confirming a 5.2L Supercharged motor for the next-gen GT500. Inside sources have claimed this 5.2L will NOT features a flat plane crankshaft like the GT350, but rather a traditional cross plane crank – so we expect the the big brother GT500 to sound a little different from it’s sibling.
