According to the EPA, the 3.5L EcoBoost V6 powered 2017 Ford GT gets worse MPG than the 2005/06 Ford GT V8

Today the EPA released their official MPG ratings for the 2017 model year. 2017 Ford GT EPA-Rated 11/18 MPG City/Highway:

Keep in mind, the 2017 Ford GT has 15% more HP and is about 560 lbs lighter.

To be fair, the EPA’s algorithm for rating the MPG of cars has changed several times since 2005, and it gets even more confusing because they’ve updated some of the numbers for past cars, but not necessarily all of them and not necessarily to the latest system. Regardless, it is uncertain if the EPA’s new rating system works to the benefit or detriment of the new Ford GT, but we thought you’d find the latest EPA report on the Ford GT interesting.
